Milton Ulladulla Subtropical Rainforest Revival (MUSTR) Endangered ecological community

2016 - Ongoing

As part of the Saving our Species project the MUSTR is confined to soils derived from the Milton monzonite geology. Milton Rural Landcare has been part of this project from its inception in 2016.

The MUSTR has been significantly reduced over the years and is at its southern limit in the Milton area. Over 8000 seedlings have been planted over 7+ hectares and all have come from our nursery equating to an increase of 2.5% coverage of rainforest. Further weeding of another 20+ hectares has increased the natural seedling coverage.

The Rainforest Revival, funded by the Office of Environment and Heritage, provides funding and support for landholders to plant trees on their farms, helping to create shelterbelts that improve stock health and production outcomes, and creating biodiverse environments.
